Resource Therapy
Resource Therapy (RT), also known as Advanced Ego States, is a powerful, compassionate, and creative therapy based on the understanding that the mind is multifaceted. These facets or parts of mind are called Resources. Resource Therapy is an attachment-informed parts therapy developed by Prof. Gordon Emmerson combining his knowledge of Ego State Therapy, Psychology and his client’s experiences.
Resource Therapists appreciate that each Resource/Part is an ingenious neuro – relational reflection of how we adapted to life circumstances. Like many other modalities, Resource Therapy understands that maladaptive or unhelpful behaviours, distressing emotions and relational challenges are connected to the perceptions, beliefs and behavioural repertoires held by resources.
In RT we learn to relate directly with Parts and treat the basis of a client’s symptoms in a way that promotes reprocessing, memory re – consolidation and increased capacities. By directly communicating with these states, Resource Therapy helps clients heal past wounds, resolve inner conflicts, and access their strengths to create lasting positive change. This empowering method is effective for a wide range of psychological and emotional challenges.
As Clinical Resource Therapists and Certified Trainers (International), SEVA Trainers have undertaken 95 hours of in-depth and experiential training in Resource Therapy. This allows a thorough understanding of personality parts, which both Michele and Amy use as a standalone therapy technique or integrated into modalities such as Relational-Integrative EMDR. As frontline Therapists, both Michele and Amy use Resource Therapy with a vast majority of their caseload and support Parts through a compassionate and respectful approach. Receiving your training from practicing Therapists also ensures that you receive up-to-date, practical and applicable techniques, exercises and case examples from Trainers who also hold clinical caseloads.
RT can be used as an effective standalone therapy, or utilised with other effective treatment approaches such as EMDR. Seva Training provides 2-day training (12 CPD Points) which allows participants to receive a Foundation Certificate in Resource Therapy. This is a pre-requisite for the 10 day clinical qualification in Resource Therapy (8 days required after achieving the Foundation Certificate).
Please note - this training is equal to 12 CPD points (please confirm with your regulatory body)
