Michele Bowes (she/her/hers)

Michele is an Accredited EMDR Consultant with EMDRAA & EMDRIA , Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, Clinical Resource Therapy Trainer (Advanced Parts Work), EMDR Trainer. Partner and Therapist in a private practice in the Hunter Valley, NSW, Seva House Therapeutic Services. Michele is also trained as a Somatic Integration and Processing (SIP) Practitioner.

Michele works in a relational and depth-oriented method that incorporates an exploration of ancestral stories passing through generations. Working with attachment lens, prioritising the heart and soul aspects in her work, valuing individuals beyond mere symptoms and emphasising an embodied approach. Relational Integrative EMDR (RI-EMDR) is the approach Michele has created with Amy, which integrates AI-EMDR, Resource Therapy, Imagery Rescripting, Somatic/Body Work, Compassion Focused Therapy & ACT.

Michele is passionate about working with trauma and loves the therapeutic work involved in that relationship. EMDR was transformational for Michele in this work. This passion spills over into her love of providing Consultation and Training in EMDR, RI-EMDR and Resource Therapy.

Michele works extensively with children, young people and adults who have experienced complex trauma such as child sexual abuse and other interpersonal trauma. . Michele also works with young people who have caused sexual harm to others.

EMDR Therapist since 2015. Michele’s love of EMDR and her first-hand knowledge and observation of its life changing results in her clients healing led her onto the journey of becoming an Accredited EMDR Consultant and EMDR trainer.. Michele’s love of her work as an EMDR and Clinical Resource Therapist inspires her to share her love of EMDR and to encourage and guide therapists to all the opportunities and benefits that EMDR therapy can provide.

When not working Michele just loves to spend time with her dogs and family and friends. Sitting on her deck reading and watching the local wildlife, listening to good music and watching the odd game of Cricket and Soccer. Michele is also passionate about social justice issues in the world and is a passionate activist on issues that are close to her heart. Michele is a Vegan and Pacifist. Travelling to isolated islands to snorkel when the opportunity allows and eating good local food.

Amy English (she/her/hers)

Amy is an Accredited EMDR Consultant with EMDRAA, Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, Clinical Resource Therapy Trainer, EMDR Trainer - currently supporting a private practice in Maitland, NSW as a Practice Partner and Therapist at Seva House. Amy is also trained as a Somatic Integration and Processing (SIP) Practitioner.

Proud to have worked externally with Australian Universities in a supervisor and tutor capacity, Amy holds a passion for supporting clinicians developing and honing their therapeutic skills. Her own therapeutic work extends to supporting victims of crime to recover and heal - social justice being a value she holds close to her heart and a value she enjoys sharing with like-minded practitioners.

Holding a special interest in supporting those impacted by adoption, out-of-home care and interpersonal violence, Amy works across the lifespan both online and in person. Through working with modalities such as EMDR, attachment-informed EMDR, somatic approaches and Clinical Resource Therapy (as a Clinical Resource Therapist and Trainer), Amy enjoys the creativity of incorporating attachment-based therapies and Somatic Interventions - a must when working with developmental and complex trauma.

This led to the exciting development of Relational-Integrative EMDR (RI-EMDR), an embodied approach to relational trauma on an individual, relational, generational and collective level.

Amy enjoys the spark of excitement and creativity in working with supervisees and consultees to develop and support clinicians to be confident in their own style of working. Amy acknowledges the importance of clinician’s own values and skill set.

In her down time, Amy enjoys reading novels (fantasy and horror), being with her family (bulldogs included) and heading to the beach when the weather allows.
